Storyville by Lois Battle
Book Number:RC 35888
435 pages on 12 sides
read by Yvonne Fair Tessler
In the early 1900s, Julia arrives in New Orleans as the young bride of Charles Randsome, whom she married against her family’s wishes. Kate also comes to New Orleans as a young woman, abandoned by a man who used her and left her penniless. Their very different connections with the notorious red light district of Storyville draw them together. Some strong language and some explicit descriptions of sex. Bestseller.
This is the second time I've read this book, but the first time to write a review. I love this book. Lois Battle weaves a story of women, a city and the changes in America's views on women's issues. It spans several generations and crosses social lines that are drawn by the New Orleans society. I urge all women to read this one. I give it a big 5 out of 5.
Happy reading,
Carla/TexasRed

Sounds very good, very in depth. I'll try it.
